Hide & Seek & Eat

Another of my all time free favourite games is Hide & Seek & Eat which, as luck would have it, does exactly what it says on the tin as you peoples like to say. It’s a bit like Chuck, Chase, Catch & Chew only instead of Chucking the treat, Dad hides it instead.

While I wait – not always terribly patiently I must admit – in the sit or down position, Dad runs off and hides the treat, one of the special, all-natural, healthy, home made treats that Mum makes specially for me.

He doesn’t know it of course, but I’m actually watching his every move so I’m already pretty clued up on where he’s hidden the treat even before I set off in hot pursuit. Sneaky, eh!

Anyway, by the time he comes back, puffing and panting like an arthritic, asthmatic and terminally flatulent moose, grinning from ear to ear because he thinks he’s fooled me, I’m all gassed up and ready to go. Then he utters one of my all time favourite words, ‘Find’, and I’m off like a rat up a drainpipe.

Once again this gives me extra physical exercise and mental stimulation as I first run in the general direction of the hidden treat, then use my finely tuned olfactory senses to sniff it out and finally use what we dogs call our ‘gustatory perception’ which is basically enjoying the taste of the once hidden treat or ex-treat as I like to call them. Yum, yum, pigs, er….bottom!

I am a large, friendly, affectionate and, even though I say so myself, fabulously handsome 3 year old German Shepherd Dog whose mother, Lexi, is one of the few German Shepherds in the UK to have qualified to become a Therapy Dog (PAT dog).
